I haven't been keeping up with notch's news much but I was told Notch decided endermen are a bad idea because reddit kept bitching about how it spawns inside their redstone mechanisms and breaks them.

Good lord notch, creating a user placed block log, prevent endermen from taking user placed block or just limit what they can pick up or where they can spawn, for fucks sake. Or make it that they spawn in day light levels.

But nope he just wants to remove the thing completely.
